![]() I have read Adnan Nur Baykal’s fictional interview with Hürrem Sultan and it didn’t feel like MC at all - Hürrem’s characterization was very different. It just has an MC feel to it that other adaptations of Hürrem’s story that I have read/watched didn’t have. But I must admit that I strongly suspect that the MC writers read this novel. Since MC also relied on some of the same later contested historical “information” (like Ibrahim being married to Hatice and cheating on her with Muhsine), some similarities are I guess to be expected. ![]() ![]() He seems to have mostly relied on actual historical evidence that was available to him at the time - my edition of Hürrem Sultan actually has annotations indicating where he got the sources for many events in the story.
